Let me introduce you to the amazing world of reinforcement based animal training.  This is training that focuses upon having respect for the individual and building behavior through motivation rather than avoidance.

In 2005, I decided to tap into the experience and knowledge I had gained since the early 1990's training my dogs for Search & Rescue . The name of my business, Positive Rewards, reflects my dedication to the use of the behavioral science of reinforcement training to achieve results.
I became a certified trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in 2007 and have maintained my certification since that time.

I have been strongly influenced and inspired by the work of many others including Kathy Sdao, Dr. Susan Friedman, Bob Bailey, Hannah Brannigan, Pam Dennison and the dynamic K9 Nose Work trio of Ron Gaunt, Amy Herot and Jill Marie O’Brien.

Training 'Positively' does not mean 'Permissively' ; it is about building an effective communication system between the learner and the teacher.

I  believe in the power of reinforcement training. I enjoy helping others learn how to not only communicate their training desires effectively, but more importantly, teach owners how to listen to what their dogs are “telling’ them about the training conversation. I want the dog or any other animal I am training to be an interactive, willing participant in the training conversation .

It is training without a fear of failing.

Let me help you create a better behaved dog-  even old dogs can learn new tricks!

Thanks for stopping by to say hello -
